Ireland's Gary "Spike" O'Sullivan was brought in to test Antoine Douglas, a 25 year-old middleweight prospect, but O'Sullivan turned this opportunity into the biggest win of his career. The 33 year-old O'Sullivan with a goofy mustache exposed some holes in Douglas' defense, pressured Douglas throughout the fight, and ended up knocking out Douglas in round 7. The loss is devastating for Douglas, who is a charismatic kid who had a ton of momentum going into this fight. This is the second loss for Douglas and drops his record to 22-2-1, 16 KO's.
With the win, O'Sullivan improves his professional record to 27-2, 19 KO's. He also picks up the vacant WBO Inter-Continental middleweight title. The win could put O'Sullivan in line for a potential title shot for WBO world middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders, who picked up a win on the same card and who previously beat O'Sullivan by decision in 2013.
