Many wonder whom Manny Pacquiao's successor(s) will be when he faces Tim Bradley for the third and last time of his career on April 9th. Filipino boxing prospects Albert Pagara and Mark Magsayo earned unanimous decision wins and remain undefeated at yesterday's Pinoy Pride 35 event in Cebu City. In the main event, Pagara outpointed Nicaragua's Yesner Talavera and scored a knockdown in round 7 after landing a right hand to the body to retain his WBO intercontinental junior featherweight crown. In the co-main event, Magsayo earned a unanimous decision win over Eduardo Montoya in a 10 round featherweight bout. Montoya was dropped in round 7 after Magsayo landed a barrage of body shots. Magsayo is an exciting, aggressive prospect, and he has destroyed many opponents by smothering them with heavy handed combinations.
ALA Promotions presented its first U.S. card in October of 2015 in Carson City, CA. We hope the above fighters make their return to the U.S. for another opportunity to put the Philippines' rising boxing talent on display.
